With 2020 being the year of COVID, having a toddler that was stuck at home (especially during the winter) presented the need for, well, stuff to do. So, my wife and I decided to turn our basement into a play place for our little girl. We started by designing and building an indoor slide with

In this pandemic it is important to take reasonable measures to reduce spreading viruses. A paper from 2019 found that louder voices spread more viruses (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-019-38808-z) [Asadi et al. 2019]. This simple project aims to remind people to not shout unnecessarily. This can be used in classrooms, meeting rooms or any other setting where people

This project originated from a request of a friend. He asked me to build a so-called smile counter for their college dorm – a segmented display which can show a number. This number must increment every time someone pushed a button and should be memorized even if power goes out. The counter was counting smiles:

My basement gets wet when it rains a lot so I wanted a way to monitor it. I decided to try using an ESP8266 as it has built in WiFi. I paired that with a DHT22 Humidity & Temperature Sensor and a float sensor to monitor my sump pump. Using the ESP8266 is easy enough

OLED!! What is an OLED? OLED ( Organic Light Emitting Diodes ) is a flat light emitting technology, made by placing a series of organic thin films between two conductors. When electrical current is applied, a bright light is emitted. OLEDs can be used to make displays and lighting. Because OLEDs emit light they do not require a backlight and

We went all ‘cord-cutter’ and ditched our Cable box and realized something was now missing in our family room…the oh so familiar LCD clock that was always present. I decided to get to work on a replacement and had some fun with it. If you’re like me you’ve ordered an Arduino kit here and there when the

Hi makers! This is my first instructables and I want to address some important things firts: I made this project with the idea of using the lest amount of tools so that everyone could do it! Even I don’t have lot’s of tools, only the strict necessary I’m not an electrical engineer or a coder,

Particle Photon is a tiny micro controller, just about the size of an arduino nano. But the photon is designed for easy IoT prototyping, it supports OTA updates to its firmware. So all we have to do is get it connected to the internet and we could do all the programming wireless, the photon uses a

Wassup Makers!! In this Instructables we will learn how to interface an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) to the NodeMCU board. These 16×2 LCDs are very popular and broadly used in electronics projects as they are good for displaying information like sensor data from your project, and also they are very cheap. Step 1: Things Needed We need few components to get

VO2Max is an interesting concept that proposes that there is a natural limited ability to extract Oxygen nutrient out of the air and consume it. It is like the IQ of sports activities–some algorithm that tells you how gifted you are in doing a variety of athletic contests. It was worked on at the beginning
