Storming Robots facilitate a systematic roadmap guiding students through scaffolding levels of learning and challenges in the realm of robotics engineering and computer science. Our program focuses active learning and vigorous problem-based learning model, students are engaged in robotics engineering (an interdisciplinary subject) with hands-on, application-based robotics projects.

ONLINE (TEACHING REMOTELY) or ONSITE at our computer lab in Branchburg, NJ

Seeking Robotics and/or Computer Science (Programming) instructors and assistants.

Part-time: Compensation: $30 to $70 per 2-hr-class (DOE) (with short prep time expected)

Full-time:  $60K + medical benefit

Lead instructors or assistant for one or more of the following areas – online or onsite

1 to 2  Robotics and electronic with Arduino-C (online) – Gr. 5 to 8

1 to 2 Computer Science (online and/or onsite) – Gr. 8-12

1 to 2 Robotics with LEGO MINDSTORMS – RobotC™ (online or onsite) – Gr. 5 to 8

Description on various positions:

Robotics with Arduino Instructor/assistant position:

  • In-person only for now, unless one shows substantial qualification for conducting classes online.
  • Must have experience with Hands-on learning environment
  • Must have experience working with micro-controllers such as Arduino.
  • Prefer with Robotics experience.
  • Must have experience working with a group of middle and high schoolers.

Computer Science Instructor Position

  • Can be in-person or remote.
  • Will need to guide students how to write effectively and efficiently in C/C++.
  • Encourage computational thinking, analysis, not trials and errors.
  • Must review all programs written by students. Guide them to rewrite until work is deemed efficient.
  • Will use the book: C Programming: A Modern Approach 2nd Edition by K.N. King – ISBN-13: 978-0393979503 .
  • Will receive further training if deemed as good candidate.

Robotics with LEGO MINDSTORMS – RobotC™ or Arduino-C instructor/Assistance position:

  • Can be in-person or remote.
  • Must have experience with Hands-on learning environment
  • Must have experience working with RobotC or Arduino-C
  • Must have experience working with a group of Gr.5 to 8 graders.

*** Basic Qualifications ****

  • Currently pursuing BS or MS major in one of the following disciplines – Computer Science, or Computer Engineering,
  • Enthusiastic, with a passion for math, technology and problem solving.
  • MUST have experience working with a class of up to 8 students.
  • Possess computational and analytical thinking skills in programming in C/C++ . If your experience is in Java, we offer training for the right candidate.
  • Possess rapport with children somewhere between the ages of 12 and 18.
  • Like to take pride on your own work.
  • Enjoy analysis .

*** Characteristics of classes ***

  • Lead a class of up to 8 students with high academic standing.
  • Projects-based Classes are instructor-led, focus on higher order of thinking which keeps students challenged.

*** Typical Schedule ***

1) Part-time:  During September to June: Weekly 2 to 20 hours.

2) Full-time:  Working from  Wednesday to Sunday, 40 hours per week.
