100 GHz real-time oscilloscope arrives

Summary of 100 GHz real-time oscilloscope arrives

Teledyne LeCroy announced the LabMaster 10-100Zi, the first 100 GHz real-time oscilloscope. The LabMaster 10-100Zi acquisition module increases bandwidth from the prior 65 GHz record to 100 GHz by downconverting input signals to 36 GHz, then digitizing and reconstructing them for display, using the same technology as previous LabMaster models.

Parts used in the LabMaster 10-100Zi:

  • LabMaster 10-100Zi acquisition module
  • LabMaster 10 Zi oscilloscope platform
  • Downconversion circuitry to 36 GHz
  • Digitizer
  • Signal reconstruction/display subsystem

You’ve seen the videos and live demos at DesignCon, OFC, and ECOC. Now, it’s here. Teledyne LeCroy has announced the LabMaster 10-100Zi, the world’s first 100-GHz real-time oscilloscope. First demonstrated in 2013, the LabMaster 10-100Zi acquisition module for the LabMaster 10 Zi oscilloscope makes a significant jump in bandwidth over the previous record of 65 GHz, also held by Teledyne LeCroy.

100 GHz real-time oscilloscope arrives

The LabMaster 10-100Zi acquisition module uses the same technology developed for previous models. That is, it downconverts the spectral content of a signal to 36 GHz then digitizes and reconstructs the signal for display.
